Hi! I practice in Knoxville, Tennessee and work with with folks ages 16 and older who are struggling to tell their story, those who need someone safe to listen to them, those who haven’t always felt safe. I believe that the therapeutic relationship can be powerfully healing if you and I can both show up as our authentic selves. We need folks on our team, showing up in our corner, reminding us that we have worth, affirming that systems of oppression are in place and not just giving us coping skills to breathe through that oppression. Don’t get me wrong, we need self-regulatory skills but I don’t want to teach folks mindfulness and have them mindfully tolerating racism, sexism, misogyny, homophobia, or transphobia.
Until people are empowered, with empathy, to challenge their injected white supremacy and other colonized ideologies, we cannot and will not be able to reach equity in this world. I want to hold space for folks to start asking questions, exploring answers they already know, or navigating life’s circumstances. Showing up is a huge deal. I want to show up with you.
