When I provide therapy for someone I work collaboratively with them to help determine which direction we go in or what topics we may delve into further. I’m not here to judge anyone’s choices or tell them what to do, rather I help the person figure out what’s working well in their life and what are some of the things they are hoping will work better so that they can meet their goals and feel fulfilled.

Social justice, racial equity, inter-sectional feminism and other diversity/equity/inclusion topics are important areas which I incorporate into my therapeutic methods. What this means is that, when appropriate, we may discuss how society has provided you privilege, oppressed, discriminated against, or otherwise shamed any or multiple parts of your identity; and how those experiences may play a role in your story. These topics may also be discussed in terms our our therapeutic relationship and how our identities may be interacting in the room with each other.
